Created within the historic circa 1921 Buena Vista Post Office, one of the first buildings in the Miami Design District, this Patek Philippe boutique reimagines luxury retail while honoring its architectural legacy.
As Architect of Record, we played a critical role in bringing the Patek Philippe vision to life, ensuring that all design and construction drawings aligned with U.S. standards, codes, site conditions, and the requirements of the Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board. Our expertise extended to resolving unforeseen building deficiencies concealed within the previous tenant’s buildout, seamlessly adapting the design while maintaining the brand’s uncompromising luxury retail experience.
The boutique’s innovation is exemplified by a cantilevered curved stair, a striking architectural feature that integrates seamlessly with a low-volume HVAC distribution system, carefully adapted to the constrained ceiling heights beneath the mezzanine. Additionally, a wonderful exterior space for client meetings was created in the alley between the adjacent Moore Furniture Building, featuring a pivoting green wall at one end, a custom screen at the other and automated louvered roof canopy, allowing air and natural light while maintaining privacy and controlled access.
This exceptional transformation was recognized as the WatchPro U.S. 2023 Best New Store of the Year, solidifying its status as a benchmark in luxury retail design.
